Las Weapons
Lascannon
Built for war, lascannons use huge power packs that provide enough energy to punch holes in the thickest armour even at very long ranges. Each charge pack is good for one shot, meaning most lascannons are designed to hold multiple.
Sample Patterns: Hell Hammer, Mars Mk VII
Lasgun
Also known as lasrifles, lasguns are the most common las weapons in existence, due in no small part to their ubiquity within the Imperial Guard. There are countless varieties, patterns, and custom-refits of lasguns across the galaxy, but their standard design has been with the Imperium since before its official founding.
Sample Patterns: Kantrael M36, Mars Mk III
Laspistol
Like their larger brother the lasgun, the compact and reliable nature of laspistols makes them a favorite among Imperial officers and gang leaders alike. Also like lasguns, such sidearms are produced according to numerous different templates on many, many forge worlds.
Sample Patterns: Kantrael M36, Mars Mk III
Triplex Lasgun
A highly refined variant of the standard lasgun, the triplex offers alternative firing modes that make the weapon more versatile on the battlefield. The trade-off for this adaptable design is the lack of more common variable power settings.
Sample Patterns: Triplex Phall M-Galaxy
Hot-Shot Weapons
Hot-Shot Lasgun/Laspistol
Also known as hellguns or hellpistols, hot-shot weapons are high-power variants of las weaponry that rely on large, external battery packs to fuel their armour-piercing capabilities.
Sample Patterns: Ryza Mk I, Lucius Mk I
Hot-Shot Volley Gun
Fielded primarily by the Tempestus Scions and known for its distinctive "howling" sound, the hot-shot volley gun is the premiere rapid-fire heavy weapon for elite soldiers facing down armoured infantry.

Autogun Weapons
Autocannon
Autocannons are heavy, powerful weapons that can devastate light vehicles and armoured foes alike with long ranged firepower. They are commonly mounted on tanks or crewed with infantry teams in Imperial armies, but can also be found in the unclean hands of insurrectionists and heretical forces.
Sample Patterns: Agrippina Mk II, Armageddon
Autogun
While not as commonplace as lasguns in military formations, these sturdy and expensive remain a favorite of Planetary Defense Forces, for whom supply train logistics are not as great a concern. Autoguns use common, low-caliber rounds in standardized clips, available a wide variety of specialized compositions for the discerning gunman.
Sample Patterns: Agrippina Mk II/III, Armageddon
Autopistol
Rapid firing and compact, many veteran Guardsmen carry an autopistol to supplement their regulation lasgun or other, less reliable weapons. They are also popular in gang hierarchies, having settled many underhive leadership disputes in a hail of bullets.
Sample Patterns: Talon Mk III, Voss Mk X/XI
Slug-Thrower Weapons
Hand Cannon
This stub gun variant concentrates on stopping power above all else. It is a huge and brutal weapon, and those who use it generally do not care about the state of their target after the shot. Hand cannons kick like a grox and, unless used with two hands or a Recoil Glove, impose a –10 penalty on Ballistic Skill tests.
Sample Patterns: Tranter .45, Westingkrup Carnodon
Ripper Gun
Designed to accommodate the primitive nature and vast strength of an Ogryn, the ripper gun is a massive combat shotgun. The substantial drum feed mechanism of these fully automatic shotguns is designed to provide enough ammunition to entertain the Ogryns as they charge towards their foes. Its firing mechanism is limited so that the user may not fire off the entire clip in a single burst—something that Ogryns are otherwise prone to due.
Sample Patterns: None of significance
Shotcannon
These much larger variants of a regular shotgun fire a huge shell nearly twice the normal size. They can lay waste to large hordes of attackers - a close hit from one can literally explode a man into a burst of shredded clothing and flesh. However, they generate tremendous recoil and must be mounted down or fired from a braced position to be effective.
Sample Patterns: None of significance
Shotgun
Even low-tech manufactorums can produce these basic weapons in great quantities, and their ability to hit several targets with a single shot make shotguns appealing to those with little actual skill in shooting. Their relatively short range and low shot velocity makes them appealing for shipboard use as well, as they have little risk of causing hull breaches.
Sample Patterns: Scatheros "Blackhammer", Westingkrup "Slayer"
Shotgun (Combat)
These automatic shotguns are designed purely for warfare. Combat shotguns are usually fed from a drum magazine (and so rarely need to be reloaded) and are even deadlier than the normal shotgun. In addition to their short-range destructive power, they hammer out an intimidating racket when being fired.
Sample Patterns: Accatran Mk XI, Lucius Mk 22c
Sniper Rifle
A refined form of stub rifle, the sniper rifle remains extremely effective against lightly armoured targets. Complete with tripod brace, silencer, and telescopic sight, in the hands of a skilled marksman it can easily turn the tide of a battle. The integral noise baffles built into the rifle make it very quiet and any attempts to detect the sound of a shot fired by this weapon require a Hard (–20) Awareness Test.
Sample Patterns: Absolution Mk I, Fykos "Nomad"
Stub Automatic
Unlike the stub revolver, this stub gun can fire in rapid semi-automatic mode as well as single shots. Though not capable of the same output as an autopistol, stub automatics offer greater stopping power.
Sample Patterns: Dorcas Mk I, Scipio Mk I
Stub Revolver
Revolvers use a rotary feed to fire single shots, with a small cylinder magazine that must be manually replenished. Their open design makes it easy to load in custom rounds for special situations, making them useful backup weapons for many bounty hunters and trackers.
Sample Patterns: Westingkrup Model 20
Stub Rifle
The stub rifle is a common sight across the galaxy: a hunting rifle firing large-bore rounds. Like most slug-throwers, its primary benefit is ease of construction and maintenance. It is also relatively accurate, even over large distances. Stub rifles are often dismissed as pitiful civilian weapons by some, but are frequently used by rebels and outlaws as well as by hunters on more primitive worlds across the Galaxy.
Sample Patterns: None of significance
Stubber
Semi-automatic stub rifles, sometimes referred to as stubbers, remain a ubiquitous tool of war for many less-developed Imperial colonies. Trading precision for an enhanced rate of fire, such weapons are usually a better alternative for the poorly-trained masses of soldiers whose hands they reach.
Sample Patterns: None of significance
Stubber (Assault)
Also called a twin stubber, the assault stubber is a highly specialized and advanced form of heavy stubber that features dual barrels. In order to keep their weight down while also meeting the impressive ammunition demands, these weapons almost always use a belt feed connected to a 25kg backpack supply.
Sample Patterns: Echon Mk III
Stubber (Heavy)
Heavy stubbers are common both on the battlefield and in the underhive, two locations which often have little to differentiate them. Relatively simple to produce and maintain, they use standard ammunition that can provide a hail of suppressive fire against infantry and light vehicles. Like all stub weapons, heavy stubbers come in many forms and use many ammunition intakes, such as long belt feeds, huge clips, or wide drums.
Sample Patterns: Orthlack Mk I, Ursid Mk I

Missile Launchers
Mag Launcher
Often unchanged over millennia, mag launchers are designed to hold a vertical magazine of missiles for improved fire rate. The trade-off, of course, is a weapon that is more awkward to use and has reduced precision.
Example Patterns: Proteus Mk I/II, Retobi Mk I
Missile Launcher
The standard man-portable, single-shot missile launcher originally perfected on Mars itself. Equivalent models are produced throughout all of Imperial space, using patterns either distributed to forge worlds or stolen by them.
Example Patterns: Locke Mk I, Mars Mk III
Rotary Launcher
A refined version of the common missile tube, rotary launchers feature a revolving cylinder with multiple chambers and usually come with an integrated fire selector. They offer enhanced versatility for the discerning armsman.
Example Patterns: Phaeton Mk I
Tread Fether
A category of light, highly-portable launchers that many Imperial Guard regiments colloquially refer to as "tread fethers." These missile tubes trade accuracy for mobility while retaining the same destructive potential.
Example Patterns: Accatran Mk II, Achillan Mk III
